Billie Eilish has joined the Barbie makeover! Grammy Award-winner Billie Eilish announced she had contributed a song to its soundtrack.
Eilish announced her song for Barbie via Instagram Thursday (July 6) with the following post. Eilish wrote, “We created this song with so much heart for Barbie & this movie will change your lives & hopefully this song too – prepare to shed a few tears and sob a lot!”
“What Was I Made For” will be released on July 13, featuring Eilish’s go-to collaborator, Grammy winner FINNEAS.
Executive produced by Academy Award-winning songwriter and producer Mark Ronson, the Barbie soundtrack will include songs by contemporary pop’s most prominent and brightest stars like Lizzo, Fifty Fifty, Kali Gayle, Khalid Haim, and Ava Max. Already from this soundtrack have come singles such as Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night,” which reached No 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and Nicki Minaj Ice Spice and AQUA’s “Barbie World,” which reached No 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, respectively.
